Developing a Plan for Implementation

Developing a strong plan for implementation is essential when turning an innovative idea into reality.  It’s  not enough to simply have a creative solution if there is no structure to support it.  “ Developing an implementation plan can help teams determine  appropriate strategies  to achieve each implementation goal,  establish  feasible timelines for enacting the strategies and  identify  clear roles and responsibilities.” (UNC School of Social Work). This has helped better my understanding how detailed planning can  determine  the success or failure of a project. Implementation planning  is a tool that implements teams to track goals, strategies, and reflect on implementation progress. Finding Opportunities for Innovation

One way innovation begins is by  identifying  unmet needs in the target market. Each of these questions allowed me to reflect on my own skills and how I can continue to grow.    Two personal skills that I believe are essential for effective innovation are creativity and a growth mindset. Creativity allows  thinking outside the box  and  coming up with   new solutions , while a growth mindset keeps us open to learning and not give up immed ietly when things are challenging. One emphasis that stuck with me from this week is the point that failure is part of the learning process.  “Some of the best innovations in history were the product of many failures. View failure as an opportunity to learn and improve for the future rather than defea...
